Margaret Golden, Ed.D., Forum Program Director – Margaret will join Millennium full-time in August to coordinate the design, implementation and distribution partners for the Forum Program. Since 2005, Margaret has been a facilitator for the Center for Courage and Renewal and has recently been directing their “Leading Together” Program for Educators. During that time, she worked closely with Parker J. Palmer to bring his wisdom into educational and certification programs (“Courage to Teach” and Courage to Lead") for coaches and educators around the world. Margaret is a Professor Emerita of Education and Director of the Courage to Teach program at Dominican University, where she has actively pursued her passion for educational equity and the study of social-emotional development and spirituality in children and adults. Margaret received both a Masters in Educational Administration, and a EdD in Educational Psychology from UC Berkeley.
Daniel Rechtschaffen, MFT, Director of Mindful Education – Daniel is one of the premier leaders in field of mindful education in the US. He is author of “The Way of Mindful Education” and “The Mindful Education Workbook”. He is the founding director of Mindful Education, which hosts online courses, consulting, and the largest annual conference on mindfulness for educators. He is a co-founder of the year-long Transformative Educational Leadership program with Linda Lantieri and featuring Dan Siegel, Daniel Goleman and others. Daniel is an active partner with Millennium, advising on curriculum design, moderating Forums, training other moderators, coordinating partners, and guiding Forum distribution through his network of 7,000 mindful educators.
Jeff Snipes, Co-Founder and Chairman of Millennium.org - Jeff has more than 20 years of experience facilitating Forum for business leaders and educators. He has led several education-related organizations and facilitated scores of conscious leadership circles and retreats. Jeff currently serves on the boards of Mindful Schools and Education Superhighway, and advises select San Francisco Public Schools on the implementation of Mindful SEL programs for faculty and students. He is also the Chairman and Co-Founder of Millennium School, where he leads the mindfulness, Forum, and "Life, Learning & Leadership" programs. Previously, Jeff served on the board of Stanford's Challenge Success and Marin Montessori School, where he helped launch a model whole-student progressive middle school. Jeff’s deep knowledge of developmental psychology grows out of his personal journey into contemplative practices and tenure as CEO of one of the largest U.S. blended leadership development companies.
Meena Srinivasan, MA, NBCT, is an Indian-American educator, writer, and innovator who’s been teaching and leading with an equity focus in the fields of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Mindful Awareness Practices (MAP) for over 15 years and has taught and worked in a variety of school settings—public, private, urban, and international. Her inspiring book, Teach, Breathe, Learn: Mindfulness In and Out of the Classroom (Parallax Press, 2014) was featured on Edutopia and received numerous endorsements including ones from Nobel Peace Prize Nominee, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Congressman Tim Ryan. She is a National Board Certified Teacher, holds a Clear Administrative Services Credential with the State of California, and is in her sixth year of working in partnership with the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) to implement SEL system-wide in the Oakland Unified School District.
